The story behind the 8-bit kitchen
Ate-bit turns the daily grind of feeding a household (what's in the pantry, what's for dinner, what to buy) into something that feels less like a chore and more like a game.
What is Ate-bit?
Ate-bit is a household food and meal-planning app. Track what's in your pantry, plan the week's meals, import recipes from anywhere on the web, then cook and log it all, so your household always knows what's for dinner and what's running low.
It's wrapped in a retro 8-bit arcade look, because managing your kitchen shouldn't feel like filing a spreadsheet. It works on your phone, your tablet, your laptop, and even the smart fridge in your kitchen.
Why does it exist?
Ate-bit was built by a home cook tired of the nightly "what's for dinner?" scramble: recipes scattered across bookmarks and screenshots, a pantry full of mystery cans, and good food going to waste because nobody remembered it was there.
One shared source of truth for the household fixes that: everyone can see the plan, the pantry, and the shopping gaps, and less food ends up in the bin.
Who's behind it?
Ate-bit is an ARCODE production, an independent one-developer studio. No growth team, no ad department, just one person building the food app they wanted for their own kitchen.
That means every feature exists because it's genuinely useful at home, and feedback goes straight to the person who writes the code.
Your food data stays yours
What your household eats, buys, and cooks is personal. Ate-bit keeps that data scoped to your household: it isn't sold, shared with advertisers, or mined for anything beyond making the app work for you.
The details are spelled out plainly in the privacy policy.
